Recently, Dr. Loi Daria, a Intel user experience innovation manager, and her team conducted a survey to understand how global technology users feel about their computing devices. "Use current situation: a global perspective" is the title of the survey, the user favorite what equipment, the most commonly used equipment, handle certain tasks when what equipment to use (and why) and hope equipment in what ways to improve. The survey interviewed 1200 users in 6 countries.

Survey found that, although the smart phones, laptops, desktops and tablet computers of various types of equipment can help users to deal with many of the key work and personal matters and the majority of users have a beloved devices (see Figure 1), but many aspects still needs to be improved. This paper discusses in detail the results of the survey, that developers have a great opportunity to create and improve the user experience of the software.

There is no universal device

"The use of the status quo: a global perspective," the survey results show that the most favorite smartphone users up to (39%), followed by a notebook computer (30%), followed by desktop (21%). However, the interface of these devices are limited, can not meet all the needs of users in the work, personal chores and entertainment. For example, suitable for mobile phone to take a photo, listening to music, the use of social media, and human contact, but because of the screen size and real or perceived) security reasons. They are different for from shopping, banking business processing, image editing and sending e-mail and other tasks.

"Smart phones are very portable, so they are most often picked up," Dr. Loi said. We may think it is perfect because of the popularity of this device, but at present, there is no perfect equipment. Because of this, users often have a variety of devices. However, not all current users or new users, especially in developing countries and young users, can afford to buy a variety of devices, they do not want to go around with these devices. Therefore, as a technology development personnel, we are faced with the problem is' how in the future to help users using a single device to deal with all the necessary items, and no need to spend money to buy the use of multiple devices and demanding. How can we help them to turn to Jane? ""

Developers may need to focus on the functionality of the device that has been favored in the search for the possibility of fusion. When asked what is the most important feature of the device, respondents answered most of the operating system, followed by performance, screen size, ease of use and brands (see Figure 2). Easy to use should be extra attention, because about ease of use the "feedback will have a direct impact on developers, ease of use is absolutely essential. Otherwise, users will not buy it," said LOI.

Equipment diversity

According to the survey, users in the implementation of some of the features of the device's preference is not obvious. These features include reading locally stored books, magazines and texts; browsing local or online photos; instant messaging; interactive messaging platforms; video chats and conferences; and playing casual games. For these functions, Loi said: "the user will use the device with the corresponding function."

Depending on where the user is located, the user will use different devices. At home, the user will do something that requires the use of a laptop or PC, such as online shopping, online banking business management, learning and playing games. In work or in the class, the user will deal with some of the tasks on a laptop or PC, including presentation, create and edit documents, e-mail and access to online news or messages, using smartphones for some operations, such as viewing weather information and calendar. In addition, in the Internet cafes and similar special places, users use PC more common, the usual tasks include the use of VoIP, participate in video conferencing and update the blog or web site.

On the way, the smart phone is the search location, navigation, camera, video recording and listening to music and other tasks of the ideal choice. Loi explained: "in different places, the user's expectations are different, they have a different response to the speed of the device will be different. Their expectations will change as the environment changes. To this end, developers need to create a variety of applications can adapt to the environment, so that users can enjoy seamless experience in any occasion.

Smart phones more intelligent

Some tasks have nothing to do with the device, while other tasks are often performed on specific devices. 43% of the respondents said use smart phones to deal with daily tasks, such as viewing weather information, storing contact information and use the calendar; 47% said intelligent mobile phones are best suited to search the position and navigation, and 62% said the smart phone is most suitable for taking photos and recording video (see Figure 3).
